Differences Between Horizontal and Vertical Separators in Geothermal Applications
Geothermal applications use separators when extracting oil and gas from oil wells. The contents of the well are a mixture of hydrocarbons, oils, and other contaminants like water, mud, or sand. Separating these products will provide high purity hydrocarbon gas or oil. This is important for compatibility when used with the final application.
For the separation process, horizontal and vertical separators are used. Both separators offer certain advantages. These are discussed in detail below.
