This requires moving condensate from an area of higher pressure to an area of lower pressure. This process leads to the production of flash steam, and this flash steam is then used for low pressure processes or heating. The flash recovery vessel provides the area of lower pressure and the sufficient open area for the condensate to flash efficiently into steam. It also allows the flash steam to exit and the remaining condensate to drain away efficiently.
